Facility Rental


The Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) showcases the history, art, and cultural richness that resulted from the dispersal of Africans throughout the world. Located within the first three floors of the five-star St. Regis Tower complex, MoAD is a unique place to host your event. Your guests are free to explore MoAD's intriguing and provocative exhibitions either on their own or with a docent-led tour.

MoAD is located in the heart of the Yerba Buena district, an exciting cultural corridor with multiple museums and other cultural institutions, world-class restaurants, and luxury hotels. It is within walking distance of the Moscone Center, accessible via BART and MUNI, and located near multiple parking garages. Valet parking is available through the St. Regis Hotel.

The museum one main event space: the MoAD Salon. The Salon has in-house audio-visual and wireless Internet capabilities. It is available for gatherings of any sort, including receptions, lectures, weddings, interviews, film screenings, and meetings.

We invite you to become a part of the MoAD story. Your rental fees will help build our youth curriculum and programs; support our public education programs; and fund our distinctive exhibitions.

Corporate & Social Events

The MoAD Salon is available for corporate mixers, meetings, product launches, formal dinners, cocktail receptions, holiday parties, film screenings, lectures, and fundraisers. The room has in-house AV and can be configured in a variety of ways to feature speakers, musicians, films, wineries, or other entertainment.

The first floor lobby is included with the rental of the MoAD Salon and can be used for guest check-in, information booths, or additional reception capacity.

The MoAD Salon holds 160 standing, 80 seated in theatre rows, or 65 seated at round tables. The standing capacity can be extended to 250 using the adjoining spaces and first floor lobby.

The MoAD Salon is available all day on Monday and Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday, and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.

Reservations & Rental Logistics

Please contact the Facility Rental Department at rentals@moadsf.org or (415) 318-7142 to inquire about using the museum for your event. A tentative hold may be placed on your preferred event date for a limited period while you make your final decision. A formal hold is secured with a deposit.

A signed contract, event liability insurance, a security deposit (that is fully refundable after a successful final inspection), and the full rental fee are required to finalize your arrangements. Based on the room(s), length of event, and the number of guests attending, the rental fee includes gallery access, in-house AV, event coordination, security, and janitorial service. Docents are available for $65 per hour.
