Overview

MoAD is the only place to experience the important artistic expressions, the many journeys traveled, and the enormous cultural contributions made by people of the African Diaspora.

Your event will be set in an environment of vibrant colors, inspired original films and music that celebrate the contributions, global influences and cultural cross-pollinations of the Africa Diaspora. Guests are free to discover MoAD alone or on a guided tour of galleries and interactive exhibits that provide a unique backdrop for your event.

MoAD has five permanent exhibits that may be viewed during your private event: Celebrations, Culinary Traditions, Adornment, Slavery Passages and the Freedom Theater. Blending art and innovative technology, MoAD encourages us to look afresh at what it means to be African.

Corporate & Social Events

The MoAD Salon is available for corporate mixers and meetings, social and formal dinners, cocktail receptions, holiday parties, film screenings, lectures, and PowerPoint presentations. The room can be configured in a variety of ways to accommodate musicians, a full bar and food stations.

The first floor lobby is included with the rental of the MoAD Salon and can be used for guest check-in and information booths.

The MoAD Education Center is also available for small corporate and social meetings, seminars, and conferences. This room features state of the art equipment for web conference, PowerPoint, and film presentations.

Reservations

Please contact the Facility Rental Department to check availability for your preferred event date. A tentative hold may be placed for a limited period while you make your final decision. A formal hold is secured with a deposit.

A signed contract, certificate of insurance, a security deposit (that is fully refundable upon final inspection) and the full rental fee is required to finalize your arrangements.

Rental fees vary depending on group size, rental hours, spaces used, MoAD labor and the need for audio visual equipment.

Additional fees will also apply for additional furniture, equipment, and services.

The Facilities Department will provide estimates upon request, unless billing is for unanticipated costs by MOAD as stipulated in the contract. Contact the Facility Rental Department to arrange a walkthrough, email .
