YBCA 100 Selects Linda Harrison, MoAD Executive Director, for their annual list
We are thrilled to announce that MoAD Executive Director, Linda Harrison, has been selected as a member of the 2017 YBCA 100 list, recognizing Linda as a leader for her cultural output, inspiring many with her work, while shaping the future.
Each year, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts releases the YBCA 100 list – a compilation of the 100 people, organizations, and movements that inspire us most. This is a list that celebrates the thought leaders, provocateurs, instigators, and innovators who are using their platform to create cultural movement. Past honorees include filmmaker Ava DuVernay (2014), lawyer & activist Van Jones (2015), and rapper & poet Daveed Diggs (2016).
This years YBCA 100 list also includes a range of members with connection to MoAD: from David Adjaye, British-Ghanaian architect whose exhibition Urban Africa was featured at MoAD earlier this year, to Bryant Terry the museum’s chef-in-residence, to Barry Jenkins who filmed a scene from his breakout piece, Medicine for Melancholy, at MoAD. A few of MoAD’s partner organizations, such as Omi Gallery, a performance and art space located at Impact Hub Oakland, are also included on YBCAs list.
