About

Enjoy Free Admission to our newest exhibition, Portraits and Other Likenesses from SFMOMA, as MoAD joins the Contemporary Jewish Museum, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the California Historical Society and The Cartoon Art Museum for Art, Drink, & Be Merry! Third Thursdays in Yerba Buena.

Join us in the MoAD Salon at 5pm for "Community Voices: A Public Dialogue" with Professor Makeda Best, followed at 6:30pm for Film Screening & Discussion | THROUGH A LENS DARKLY: BLACK PHOTOGRAPHERS AND THE EMERGENCE OF A PEOPLE.

Thomas Allen Harris's film is a cornucopia of Americana that reveals deeply disturbing truths about the history of race relations while expressing joyous, life-affirming sentiments about the ability of artists and amateurs alike to assert their identity through the photographic lens.

A discussion will follow moderated by Makeda Best.

Be sure to pick up a wristband at MoAD for special Third Thursday all-night happy hours at participating bars and restaurants. The third Thursday of each month in downtown San Francisco’s Yerba Buena neighborhood will be a monthly outing full of arts, food, and drink! Wander the blocks around Yerba Buena Gardens to soak in art and music.
