About

Enjoy Free Admission to our current exhibitions: The Art of Elizabeth Catlett: Selections from the Collection of Samella Lewis, Marie Johnson Calloway: Legacy of Color, and Lava Thomas: Beyond as MoAD joins the Contemporary Jewish Museum, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the California Historical Society and The Cartoon Art Museum for Art, Drink, & Be Merry! Third Thursdays in Yerba Buena.

Join us in the MoAD Salon at 6:30pm for FILM SCREENING & DISCUSSION | Documenting the Diaspora: A Tanzanian-Korean & Afro-Viking Go Home -- two documentaries engaging Diaspora communities around such issues as post-coloniality, mixed race identity, gender violence, national trauma, family legacies and single parenthood.

Tanzanian-Korean-American filmmaker/activist Eliaichi Kimaro's documentary A LOT LIKE YOU (PBS version) and Nigerian-Nordic-American Faith Adiele's documentary short A JOURNEY HOME will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.

Be sure to pick up a wristband at MoAD for special Third Thursday all-night happy hours at participating bars and restaurants. The third Thursday of each month in downtown San Francisco’s Yerba Buena neighborhood will be a monthly outing full of arts, food, and drink! Wander the blocks around Yerba Buena Gardens to soak in art and music.
