Nicholas Payton Trio With Braylon Lacy and Corey Fonville

GRAMMY® Award-winning trumpeter, pianist composer, and provocateur Nicholas Payton, considered one of the top artists of our time, has worked with a who’s who of musical greats including Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis and Wayne Shorter. Whether playing solo performances and duos, his own full orchestral work or as part of a 21-piece big band, the ferociously gifted Payton mesmerizes audiences.

“Payton’s clarion trumpet, as well as his genre-defying solos, stood at the center of the music making... No descriptive label or category could be affixed to Payton’s solos, which were as brashly original as they were technically imposing.”– Chicago Tribune
