Juxtaposing these textiles from Gee’s Bend with traditional textiles from West Africa, visitors are invited to contemplate and question their parallels and similarities. Exhibition made possible through the generous support of Union Bank of California. More>

Beaded Blessings
October 20 - January 14
The exhibition is comprised of over 4,000 beaded prayers inspired by African amulet traditions. Each contributed piece is a sealed beaded packet containing the written wishes, hopes, dreams and prayers sent in from participants, mainly women, from all over the nation and other countries.

Become a Museum Guide
Share MoAD with visitors of all ages in the MoAD Guide Program. Guides learn about the Museum’s unique immersive exhibitions, featured exhibitions and the Heritage Center in quarterly trainings. Must be able to commit 2 hours a month plus attend all exhibition trainings. To apply, email volunteer@moadsf.org.
