Programs
Although it has just opened its new facility to the public, MoAD
is developing educational and outreach programs to help share the
story of the African Diaspora with children and adults, both inside
and outside the physical museum. Here are some of the programs that
are either ongoing, or in development.
Become a MoAD Docent
The Docent Program at the Museum of African Diaspora (MoAD) features an in-depth
training of contemporary art from artists around the globe. In addition, training
for public touring and speaking are provided so as to create an enriching atmosphere
that is both informative and enjoyable for visitors. More...

The goals of this program are to foster literacy,
initiate group and online discussions among diverse readers, and
bring people together through the common bond of reading. More...
MoAD in the Middle Schools
This program provides middle school teachers in San Francisco quality
curriculum and training they can use to bring lessons of art, history
and tolerance to their students. More...
Lecture Series
MoAD brings various aspects of history, art and culture alive through
vibrant speakers and panel discussions.
Film Series
Various aspects of the African Diaspora are presented through the
medium of film in movies from around the world.
Teen-to-Teen Art Talks
Teens give gallery talks to their peers, and conduct art projects
afterwards, developing poise, public-speaking skills and confidence.
