Artists interested in applying to be featured in our Emerging Artists program should attend this informational meeting. Through the Emerging Artists Program (EAP), MoAD is committed to providing local artists the opportunities to generate and exhibit work reflecting the cultural and artistic richness of the African Diaspora. The EAP is a call for artists to submit a solo exhibition proposal of their work.

Competitive proposals will present innovative artwork to activate the salon space. This multipurpose space is the heart of the museum where we hold public programs, education workshops, and events.

Three final artists will be selected. Each artist will present a 3 month exhibition as part of the Emerging Artists Program.*

Exhibition #1 — December 4, 2019 through March 1, 2020

Exhibition #2 — March 25, 2020 through June 28, 2020

Exhibition #3 — July 8, 2020 through October 11, 2020

Selected artists will be notified on September 6, 2019, from which artists will then work with the exhibitions team at the museum and have 2 months to finalize and prepare work.

We will hold two information sessions to review the application process and to answer any questions. These sessions will be held on June 21st and July 12th at 6pm in the MoAD salon and include a gallery tour
