We’re Staying: Poetry with Sounds of Resistance and Celebration is part of Teju Adisa-Farrat's “We're Staying” series via her work through World Unwrapped. This evening of poetry and sounds focuses on resistance and celebration across the African Diaspora. Featuring the songstress Tsedal Tesfahun, Teju explores the importance of staying as it is manifested in the historical and contemporary reality of the African diaspora.

Teju Adisa-Farrar is a Jamaican-American writer/poet/artist and urban geographer. Her work focuses on subaltern artist & activist communities, geographies of Blackness, decolonization, social art praxis, and postcolonial culture in cities. She spends her time performing poetry and working on various collaborative projects. She is the Creative Director of World Unwrapped.

Tsedal Tesfahun is a Singer/Songwriter and DJ who currently resides in Oakland, California. As a first generation immigrant - born in Kenya, then moving to Ethiopia before eventually migrating to the United States - she embodies the nomadic lifestyle and identifies as a Third Culture Kid.
