Part James Brown, part Jimi Hendrix and all New Orleans, the Grammy®-nominated Trombone Shorty began his career as a bandleader at the age of six, toured internationally at age 12, and joined Lenny Kravitz’ worldwide tour at the age of 19.

In 2014, with his band Orleans Avenue, he backed Macklemore and Madonna on the Grammy awards.   He has performed on stage with such diverse artists as Prince, Zac Brown Band, Sheryl Crow and Foo Fighters and in 2012 performed at the White House in honor of Black History Month with music royalty including B.B. King, Mick Jagger, Jeff Beck and Booker T. Jones.  In 2015 Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue closed the main stage of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest for the third straight year.
