About

This workshop will examine how artists including both Kenyatta A.C Hinkle and Alison Saar experiment with narratives in their work. Teachers will view a few of the artworks on each floor of our current exhibits that thematically connect to one another. Both artists use the narratives of mythical women, including Tituba, an Afro-indigenous woman labeled a witch during the Salem Witch Hunt.

Later, we will workshop a variety of exercises designed to appeal to the different learning styles students may need including experiential, visual, and tactile to name a few. We will explore resources for integrating these themes and participate in hands-on activities, storytelling and reflecting.

The activities will be created to encourage critical and creative thinking skills, collaboration and implementing innovations. It is our aim to explore these aspects so that you will be able to encourage students to use these processes on a daily basis inside and outside the classroom.

A non-refundable $5 fee saves your spot for what will surely be a learning and sharing experience for all.  Spaces are limited.
