Join us on Zoom for our monthly virtual Open Mic. Hosted by poet Nia McAllister, join us for an evening of spoken word, featuring amazing poets and musicians from throughout the Bay Area and beyond. All are welcome, either participate or just watch.

Our Featured Poet: Said Shaiye 

Said Shaiye is an Austic Somali writer from Seattle who now lives in Minneapolis. He is an MFA Candidate & Graduate Instructor at the University of Minnesota. He has published poetry & prose in 580 Split, Entropy, Diagram, Rigorous, and elsewhere. His debut book, Are You Borg Now?, was released by Really Serious Literature. It’s an experimental memoir with elements of poetry, self-interview, photography & more. He can be reached at www.saidshaiye.com

Copies of Are You Borg Now? are available at the MoAD Bookstore. This title will be the African Book Club selection for March 2022. Join the book club conversation on Sunday March 27, 2022 at 12pm PST.
