About
This Kindergarten-5th grade workshop will be facilitated by MoAD's featured artist, Kenyatta A.C Hinkle and SFUSD’s K-5 Teacher of the Year – Kelly Clark. Kelly, who typically features pedagogical approaches to discussing race in elementary classroom will build upon the work in the gallery in order to discuss literature and sculpture. This education workshop provide an occasion to network with other like-minded professionals in the bay area as well as discuss integration of California’s Common Core Curriculum.
This is part of ongoing workshops that Kelly has facilitated to explore race in the classroom. Using Kenyatta’s project and poetry, self reflection, popular culture, history, and the museum, the workshop will explore how we can explore the creation of a new history and time.
