14th Annual CubaCaribe Festival and MoAD present

Flows : A series of short films by YAK FILMS that illustrate the beauty and art of "street" hip-hop dance.

Yoram Savion is is co-founder of YAK Films, a multimedia company dedicated to filming movement-based art. For over 10 years, they have traveled the world to reveal unique dance talent in diverse urban landscapes. We promote innovative filming techniques using the latest gear that will fit in our backpack yet deliver the highest image quality possible.

Currently Yoram is working with Adobe and Destiny Arts Center in Oakland, teaching multimedia production with up and coming dancers, musicians and martial artists.

The 14th Annual CubaCaribe Festival, June 15-24, 2018, features two weekends of performances at Laney College in Oakland (Weekend 1, June 15-17) and the Brava Theater in San Francisco (Weekend 2, June 22-23), as well as an evening lecture & film series at Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD). This year, our focused theme is “The Movements of Migrations.” The CubaCaribe Festival has been highly acclaimed for being the only festival to present popular, contemporary and folkloric cultural expression, religion, history, and politics of the Afro-Caribbean Diaspora.
