Introducing SANCTUARY: ART AS CARE at MoAD

SANCTUARY places care at the center of the MoAD experience, inviting visitors to encounter art, themselves, and one another through attention, presence, and connection. Rooted in the belief that cultural engagement is essential to human flourishing, these programs create space for reflection, belonging, restoration, and renewal.
5-6pm SANCTUARY | Sound
Experience the second-floor installation of Dewey Crumpler’s Sonic Lineages through guided looking and an intimate listening experience featuring the music of John Coltrane, one of Crumpler’s musical influences. Moving between sound and image, we’ll explore how rhythm, improvisation, and close attention can open pathways into Crumpler’s conception of time.
You will have free access to our current exhibitions: Dewey Crumpler: Sonic Lineages, After the Island: Ornament & Ceramic Practice in the Jamaican Diaspora, and Dorian Reid: Calling All Cats.
