MoAD Mix | Why (Black) Art Matters

Join us for a thought-provoking conversation on “Why (Black) Art Matters," featuring special guest Key Jo Lee, MoAD's Chief of Curatorial Affairs and Public Programs. In this edition, we invite guests to reflect on the role of art in shaping culture, challenging systems, and sustaining community—especially in times of uncertainty.

Together, we’ll explore pressing questions at the heart of contemporary art discourse:

  • How do exclusivity and inaccessibility shape our experiences of art spaces?
  • What does it mean to decolonize museums and reimagine them as sites of belonging?
  • Can museums truly serve as community spaces, and what responsibility do Black museums have within these ongoing debates?

Bring your lived experiences to this discussion that invites honest reflection and open dialogue about art’s power, purpose, and place in our lives.

MoAD Mix: A Spirited Discussion on Art & Culture is a refreshing re-imagination of Art As We See It.

Once you register for the program, you will receive an acknowledgement email with the zoom link. If you don't receive this email, please check your junk mail or spam folder.
