MoAD Mix: Flowers – Black American Artist Appreciation
Wednesday, August 27 | 6:00 PM PT | Virtual
This August, MoAD Mix offers flowers—our recognition and appreciation—to Black artists whose brilliance deserves far more shine.
Join us for "Flowers: Black American Artist Appreciation," a virtual conversation celebrating visionary artists who are deeply influential but not yet household names. We’ll explore the work and impact of creators Leonardo Drew, whose sculptural installations speak to memory and decay; Simone Leigh, who centers Black womanhood in ceramic and bronze; Arcmanoro Niles, known for his glowing, intimate portraiture; and Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle, whose multidisciplinary work challenges erasure and reclaims historical narratives.
Through artwork, dialogue, and sound, we’ll honor their contributions and reflect on how we can celebrate and sustain the creative labor of Black artists across time.
MoAD Mix: A Spirited Discussion on Art & Culture is a refreshing re-imagination of Art As We See It.
Once you register for the program, you will receive an acknowledgement email with the zoom link and drink recipes. If you don't receive this email, please check your junk mail or spam folder.
