OPEN MIC THURSDAYS continue. Because we remain closed due to the global pandemic COVID-19, we will host our Open Mic online via ZOOM. Because we had such an awesome first virtual open mic, we will bring them to you TWICE per month instead of once.
Look for MoAD Open Mic this month on the FIRST & THIRD THURSDAYS during the closure. Because we love MoAD and MoAD loves you!

Christopher D. Sims
Christopher D. Sims a.k.a. UniverSouLove is a northern Illinois based poet, spoken word performer, musicians, and an arts educator and activist. It was 1980s rap/hip-hop music that helped him discover his gifts as a writer. He is a seasoned poet, spoken word performer, and musician who can play percussive instruments. He is also a songwriter.
As a spoken word artist, Christopher has performed in Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, Madison, WI, Brooklyn, NY, East Harlem, NY, on Long Island, in San Diego, Toronto, Ontario and in a host of other cities in the states. He's the author of Universal Citizen and recorded The Best Kept Secret - a rap album - with producer Nicholas Riggs.
Music, especially jazz music, is a major influence on Christopher's musings and writings. Currently, he is pushing forward as an arts and culture leader as a 2019 fellow of the Intercultural Leadership Institute.
