About
ALL AGES & SKILLS LEVELS WELCOME!
Anansi the Spider is one of the greatest folk heroes for the Ashanti people in Ghana, West Africa. He is a trickster and one of the wisest characters in the Ashanti world and his teachings are important throughout the African Diaspora, particularly in the Caribbean and for African Americans. Anansi is considered the holder of all knowledge.
In this all-ages workshop you will hear a short story about Anansi and then we will walk you step-by-step in the process of making your own Anansi the Spider out of a common household item, aluminum foil.
This workshop will be presented on the Zoom Meeting platform. We recommend downloading the free Zoom app for desktop or mobile using the same email address used to sign up for the MoAD workshop. For the best experience, you’ll want to join us from a device with a video camera and microphone. This way, we can both see and hear you. MoAD will be using Zoom to live stream our classes, and it works on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. We highly recommend sorting out your Zoom connection the day before class begins. Note that Zoom works best in the Google Chrome browser.Join Zoom Meetinghttps://zoom.us/j/478729305?pwd=Z2w0RDZNLzVMMmRkL2dBZmkzbDFSZz09
